drew Not just for FN completists, this one 100% stands up on its own - just like any good origin story. It's obvi more varied than their other releases, but it's cool to hear what got incorporated into the FN sound & what got left behind. Interestingly, I think it has more in common with their latest (Quirked Up...) than a lot of what came between, esp the very jazzy approach to drumming (yes please!), but it's still very much within the overall FN vibe. Favorite track: Aura.
World of Echo
World of Echo thumbnail
World of Echo Naive recordings made in Ableton by someone who should have gotten a DAW years and years prior but was being a stubborn a-hole recording straight to tape for far too long. A lot could be done better with these, but they have their moments (and their cringey moments). A mixed-bag. Favorite track: Mango, the Stars in Your Eyes.

about

A compilation of music released under monikers previous to Fewer Notes. I don't have the majority of my music backed-up that came before my current project, but I at least had these songs that come from two EPs (Functional Vibes and Clouds, tracks 1-11), one album (Music for Ephemeral Films, tracks 12-23), and an incomplete mixtape (tracks 24-27; I know I had later mixes of said songs, but I didn't back those up apparently). I'll point out that it's perhaps ironic that before I started making music under the moniker of Fewer Notes, I was more focused on minimalism and actually dedicated to a "less is more" approach. Maybe one day I can come full circle.

about

Fewer Notes New York, New York

I make music that I want to listen to myself, and that helps me mentally stay afloat. Some people that are not me have been known to like it too. If you turn out to be one of them, then that's cool beans. ♡
